Plan With Purpose. Grow With Direction.

A cooperative that knows where it is going makes better decisions, serves its members better, and uses its resources wisely. Strategic planning gives the board, management, and members a shared roadmap, one that balances sound business performance with the cooperative's social purpose.

PFCCO-Visayas supports primary cooperatives through the entire planning cycle: from assessing where your cooperative stands today, to facilitating the planning sessions, to drafting the plan and helping you put it into action. Our approach is participatory, grounded in cooperative values and principles, and mindful of the regulatory environment cooperatives operate in.

Envision

Where do we want to be?

Define the vision, mission, and core values, and agree on the strategic priorities that will guide the next planning period.

03

Plan

How do we get there?

Convert priorities into goals, strategies, programs, KPIs, and budgets, each with clear owners and timelines.

04

Monitor

How do we stay on track?

Set reporting rhythms and review points so the board and management can measure progress and adjust when conditions change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should take part in the planning workshop?
The strongest plans are built together. We encourage the Board of Directors, committee members, management, and key staff to take part, along with representatives of the general membership where possible. We help you decide who should be in the room based on the size and structure of your cooperative.
How long does the process take?
It depends on the size of your cooperative, the scope of the plan, and how much information is already available. We agree on the schedule and number of sessions with you during the initial consultation, so the process fits your calendar and the pace of your officers and staff.
Can the planning sessions be held at our cooperative or online?
Yes. We discuss the best format with you, whether on-site at your cooperative, at a separate venue, or online, so that the officers and members who need to participate can do so comfortably.
What should we prepare before we start?
It helps to have your latest financial statements, existing plans and annual reports, by-laws, and basic membership and loan portfolio information on hand. We will give you a simple checklist after the initial consultation, and we can work with whatever you have.
Will the plan be aligned with CDA requirements?
We build your plan with cooperative principles and the regulatory and reportorial environment in mind, so that your goals, programs, and budgets fit comfortably within what the Cooperative Development Authority expects of a well-governed cooperative.
Do you help after the plan is finished?
A plan only matters when it is carried out. We can support the roll-out, helping your board and management set up monitoring and review points, and we can discuss follow-up assistance during your consultation.
